At the Taurean Corp, employees now have a new way to get to work – in a brand, new set of “green” wheels.
The Taurean Corp and Toyota of Boerne are proud to announce a dynamite deal known as the TNT, or Taurean N Toyota Program. Through this program, TOB is offering a discount to Taurean employees on the purchase of a new or pre-owned Hybrid vehicle, and in turn Taurean will contribute to the monthly car payment.
“This is really a win-win situation. We help our employees buy a new car while reducing our carbon footprint and being good stewards of the environment,” said Taurean CEO and Founder Jeff Jaime.
“My first encounter with Toyota of Boerne and Owner Vic Vaughan was during the Christmas season doing a community service project for the Angel Tree Prison Ministry. They went above and beyond to help purchase a car for a family in desperate need. Their generosity really inspired me and I knew I wanted to work with them again,” said Jaime.
This encounter set the wheels in motion and an opportunity for Jaime to set up the program with TOB.
Employees are eligible to purchase a Hybrid vehicle at dealer’s cost from TOB. In addition, Taurean will contribute a monthly stipend to the employee’s total monthly car payment.
The TOB service department was rated number one in overall customer satisfaction in the Texas region. They offer many perks to their customers to include a full soda, coffee and cappuccino bar, snacks, and boutique shopping. Loaner cars are also free of charge and maintenance is free for the first 2 years or 20,000 miles.
Toyota is expanding its office and will soon start renovating the service waiting area to accommodate more than 30 customers. This expansion will also include an outdoor patio, a stone fireplace, and a full service coffee bar.
“We are always looking for ways we can improve our customers’ satisfaction. We strive to set ourselves apart from the business as usual environment,” said TOB General Manager Shawn Vaughan.
Certain hotels offer parking discounts for Hybrid vehicles and some are free. Even some city parking garages offer a discount for Hybrid parking. Drivers of Hybrids can also take advantage of the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes in certain cities, all without having high occupancy.
Industry experts indicate a rise in Hybrid/Electric car sales in the coming months as gas prices continue to rise. As of February 2013, Hybrid car sales made up 3.38 percent of the market. Toyota’s Avalon Hybrid made up 25 percent of all Avalons sold, with an 18 percent increase in sales for the Prius.
“I am always looking for ways I can offer forward thinking benefits to my employees while saving money and helping the environment,” said Jaime.
Although Jaime noted that the federal tax credit for Hybrid vehicles expired in 2010, he believes that the total money savings exceed the money received for this benefit.
“Even though the tax benefit expired, you can get the gas savings every day you drive your Hybrid vehicle. And you don’t have to wait until April 15th to get it.”
