Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Have you gotten a gift for the mother in your life? Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. Consider some of these DIY presents that we’ve listed.
Whip up something sweet for your mom. If she enjoys fruity spreads, she is sure to love this Homemade Strawberry Jam recipe. Plus, the preparation is super simple!
You’ll need: 2 pounds of fresh strawberries, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, and 4 cups of sugar
Step 1: First, hull the strawberries. Then, take a wide bowl and gradually add the strawberries to the bowl and crush them. Continue crushing until you have about 4 cups of mashed berries.
Step 2: Next, take a heavy saucepan and mix together the mashed strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar. Then, stir the mixture over low heat until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Step 3: Once the sugar has dissolved, increase the temperature to high heat and bring everything to a rolling boil. While still boiling, stir the mixture often until it reaches about 220 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 4: Next, transfer the jam to hot sterile jars. Be sure to leave about 1/4 or 1/2 of free space at the top of the jar and seal.
Step 5: Process the jam in a water bath. Then, refrigerate until you are ready to wrap the jam up and present it as a gift!

DIY Clay Keychain
Being a mom is hard work, and with all of the day-to-day tasks that mothers are assigned with, it can be easy to lose things from time to time. Make keeping up with car keys a bit easier with this DIY keychain!
You’ll need: clay (in the color of your choice), rolling pin, clay cutters, clay embossing kit, parchment paper, toothpick, cutting board, assorted jump rings, two pliers, and keyrings
Step 1: Place some parchment paper on top of the cutting board. Then, roll a piece of the clay into a medium sized ball. Use a rolling pin to flatten it evenly.
Step 2: Next, use a clay cutter to cut out the shape of your choice and remove the excess.
Step 3: Remove letters from the embossing kit to represent the recipient’s initials. Then, load those letters into the stamper and stamp the initials into the clay.
Step 4: Take a toothpick and poke a hole near the top of the clay shape. (This hole will be used to attach the keyring, so be sure to make it just large enough for a jump ring.)
Step 5: Cut out a small piece of parchment paper – just enough to cover the bottom of the clay shape. Then, place the parchment paper and the clay piece onto a baking sheet and bake at 230 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes or until it has fully hardened.
Step 6: Next, take a jump ring and bend it open. Slide the ring through the hole at the top of the clay. Then, hook a smaller jump ring onto this one and shut the jump ring. Finally, slide a key ring onto the smaller jump ring and wrap your gift.
