Celebrate German Culture In Boerne

Children On A Slide

The annual Boerne Berges Fest returns to the Kendall County Fairgrounds on Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 18, 2018. This free event celebrates German culture and heritage with German-themed entertainment, parades, and other fun events.

Live Entertainment On Tap

Live musical acts will be performing starting Friday night at the Boerne Berges Fest and continue all day the next day and into Saturday night. Come check out German-themed music and some amazing local/regional artists.

The Big Parade

One of the biggest attractions every year during Boerne Berges Fest is the parade. The parade “draws fans from all over South Central Texas to line the curbsides of Main Street in Boerne in the hope of catching glimpses of royalty, heroes, clowns, and merchants alike,” according to the Berges Fest website.

The city of Boerne encourages all organizations and businesses to participate in the parade and show your support for Berges Fest.

Fun Games & Rides

Be sure to bring the kids out to Boerne Berges Fest to enjoy all the rides at the carnival. Plus, there is a wide variety of fun games that will occur all weekend long. Wheelbarrow races, sack races, dizzy bat races, and egg tosses are just a sample of all the games for the kids to enjoy this father’s day weekend at Boerne Berges Fest.

Get Involved

The Boerne Berges Fest could not happen every year without the support of businesses and residents in the community. Volunteers are always needed to help out in various areas to help make this event a success. If you’d like to pitch in and help support Boerne Berges Fest, just email labor@bergesfest.com.

History of Boerne Berges Fest

The first Boerne Berges Fest was held in 1967. The event was originally centered on providing the residents of Boerne with some good music, a GermanBiergartenn, and great food. The Lions Club and Boerne Chamber of Commerce were able to pull together the inaugural Berges Fest with only $500 and some volunteers. The festival received some help from Wurst Fest committee members in neighboring New Braunfels, and it took off from that point forward.

The event has morphed over the decades into one of the most anticipated summer events in Boerne, TX that includes a parade, games, live entertainment, and more.
