It’s almost time for one of Boerne’s most celebrated events. That’s right. It’s just about time for Dickens on Main. Billed as a “one-weekend holiday extravaganza,” Dickens on Main takes place on Nov. 24–25. If you’re a shopper, you know that’s Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, and that makes sense, seeing as though there’s a lot of shopping involved in this event. The shops along Hill Country Mile will be open and ready to sell you unique Christmas gifts, but that’s just part of the fun. This is like a mini-country fair. It has a little bit of everything, including performances, food vendors, carriage rides, and a tree lighting. It also has some other cool things worth mentioning.
Singing, performing, breathing fire… you never know what you might spot at Dickens on Main. It has the coolest atmosphere around, even in the Texas sun. Where else can you drink apple cider and roast s’mores over a fire? Where else can you see elves walking around, mingling with Boerne residents? Also, where else can you see someone performing A Christmas Carol? Nowhere else, of course. That’s why you need to go to Dickens on Main.
Is That Snow?
Texas is known for heat, not snow. The sun seems to emit heat every month of the year. In fact, the seasons are almost summer, summer, right after summer, and Christmas. Well, this Christmas, you can enjoy some snow when you go to Dickens on Main. No, the organizers can’t control the weather, but they can use a snow machine to bring in some of the white stuff. It might be fake, but you won’t know the difference. It’ll look great in your pictures, and your children will be amazed. If they’ve never seen snow before, they might even think it’s real.
Pictures with Santa
Santa might not have made his way into any Dickens novels, but he’ll be at Dickens on Main. He’s always available to take a photo with the kiddos, but you should bring your own camera. He’s volunteering his time but not his film. Let your kiddos sit on his lap and snap a picture.
Dickens on Main is a favorite for the residents of Boerne. Our team at Toyota of Boerne in Boerne, Texas, is anxiously getting ready to attend, but that doesn’t mean we have forgotten about our true passion. We are still on hand, ready to help you find the perfect Toyota. Stop by before the festival and find the perfect ride. Then, maybe we will see you at the festival. We’ll be by the fire, chowing down on some s’mores.
