Each year, as we celebrate Christmas surrounded by loved ones and family, we must step back and realize that there are many who are not so fortunate. Not every child wakes up to a tree piled with presents, or a warm, loving family with whom they can celebrate. In the San Antonio area, that’s where Arms of Hope’s Medina Children’s Home comes into play. This organization provides a safe haven and Christian environment for children and single-mother families by helping them avoid homelessness, poverty, abuse, and neglect. The goal of the Medina Children’s Home is to lead these families into lives of sustaining and productive citizenship.
For another year, Toyota of Boerne is partnering with Nissan of San Marcos and Nissan of New Braunfels to provide gifts for children and single mothers in need.
About Arms of Hope
The nonprofit organization funds outreach and care programs through various parts of Texas. For this initiative, we focused our efforts on the Medina Children’s Home, about 60 miles northwest of San Antonio.
The Arms of Hope organization does not receive federal or state grants – instead, the group relies on caring individuals, businesses, civic groups, churches, and foundations for funding and volunteer support. At Toyota of Boerne, Nissan of San Marcos, and Nissan of New Braunfels, we will be donating to sponsor Christmas gifts for all of the residents – both mothers and children – at the Medina Children’s Home in Medina, Texas.
Effort that Paid Off
Funds for this year’s Christmas donation were raised by dealership employees. Customers could also donate, and a stunning $900 was raised in customer donations alone.
All in all, the trio of dealerships provided gifts for 111 people – 78 children and 33 mothers.
