2012 Toyota Tacoma Review: Better, Not Bigger

Better, Not Bigger

At Toyota of Boerne, we’re proud to be Texans, through and through. We’ve got the hot sun, the Cowboys, the Alamo, and are the founders of the “bigger is better” attitude. That steadfast rule is recognized all over the  U.S., but as with every rule, exceptions apply. One of our favorite exceptions is the industry leading midsize pickup truck, the 2012 Toyota Tacoma. Small(er) in size and big in ability, this 4X4 gives you all of the power of a full size truck with more fuel efficiency – we’re talking up to 25 MPGs* here -, plus the ability to fit in to a parking space.

For a utilitarian breed of truck, the interior of the 2012 Toyota Tacoma is surprisingly roomy and comfortable. The sleek black controls are readable and easy to use, and gives the cab a more sporty look compared to previous models. The high-grade fabric cloth seats are both  durable and comfortable, making your ride so easy you might just forget that your in a vehicle made to do real work.

The interior of the Toyota Tacoma

Of course the Tacoma has all of the basics, the optional map lights, dual cup holders, and optional garage door opener holder, but it also has the added options that you would expect only to find in top of the line full size vehicles. The Double Cab V6 offers an audio display system, while the other models offer an upgraded audio system with Bluetooth, Satellite Radio, and USB capabilities to allow you to use your MP3 player while on the road. These guys haven’t forgotten a thing, and the exterior look of the truck is no different.

The 2012 Tacoma’s front has been redesigned completely with new front grille grades, a new hood, headlamps, bumpers, and updated fog lamp housing; in one word, it’s distinctive. Moving from the hood to the cab, the 2012 model gives you 3 cab styles: regular, access, and double, to accomodate you in whatever you adventures you take on.  The bed size for the 2012 Tacoma is standard at 73.5 inches, or with a double cab, available 60.3 inches, and made of SMC (sheet-molded composite), making it lighter than steel and just as durable.
